Funding came from the Additional Accommodation Scheme and the Emergency Works Scheme

Fianna Fáil TD for the Dublin Bay North Seán Haughey has welcomed confirmation from the Minister for Education Norma Foley that St Brigid’s Boys National School, Killester and Colaiste Dhulaigh, Coolock have been approved for funding under the Additional Accommodation Scheme. Meanwhile, St Brigid’s Girls National School, Killester and St Joseph’s Boys CBS Primary School, Fairview have been approved for funding under the Emergency Works Scheme.

Deputy Haughey commented, “It is very welcome news that these schools will receive funding under these schemes.

“St Brigid’s Girls National School will receive funding for an intruder alarm under the Emergency Works Scheme. I understand that the funding will go towards two special education classrooms at St Brigid’s Boys National School. In the case of Colaiste Dhulaigh, funding will be made available for two special education classrooms, a sensory garden and a play area. St Joseph’s will receive funding towards fire safety.

“These additional facilities will serve the students for years to come.

“I would like to thank the school principals involved and indeed all the staff for their work and commitment during these trying times,” concluded Deputy Haughey.
