Not alone is illegal dumping very annoying for local residents but it also damages our environment and threatens future investment and job creation.
Baldoyle in particular has been particularly affected with material being dumped and cars being burnt out on the old Baldoyle racecourse, which is now a nature reserve.
I welcome this latest initiative by Fingal County Council and An Garda Siochána for the Baldoyle area and hope that similar operations can be launched in other Dublin suburbs in the coming weeks.
Incidents of illegal dumping can be reported to the Fingal County Council hotline at 1800 201093.
