– The deadline for applications for the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme has been extended to March 1st -
Dublin Bay North TD Seán Haughey has welcomed the news that the deadline for receipt of applications under the new round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP) has been extended to March 1st. The deadline had originally been February 14th, but this was extended to assist any clubs who may be encountering difficulties finalising their applications due to COVID-related restrictions.
Deputy Haughey commented “I welcome the decision to extend the deadline for applications for the SPCE. This programme plays a critical role for sports clubs by providing them with essential facilities and equipment. Covid-19 restrictions had caused concern among sports clubs regarding the application process and the original deadline. I would encourage local sports clubs to avail of this Programme.”
The Sports Capital Programme is the primary vehicle for Government support for the development of sports and physical recreation facilities and the purchase of non-personal sports equipment throughout the country. At least €40m is being made available under this current round of the Programme.
